Designed and tested by educators and parents of young children, Math Speedway presents a unique and fun-filled way to build both speed and accuracy in mastering addition and subtraction facts.
In each round of Math Speedway, players locate six equations hidden inside the six-by-six number grid, earning points and trophies as they progress. A simple swipe of a horizontal or vertical number sentence highlights a correct response while a timer clicks off the seconds during play.
All equations are either straight horizontal (left to right only) or vertical (top-down only) lines of three adjacent numbers (addend-addend-sum or minuend-subtrahend-difference). Programmed randomization between rounds means that no two rounds will be the same.
Individualized options for up to six players include choosing an operation (either addition or subtraction), establishing the time limit for each round (five minutes, two minutes, one minute, or thirty seconds), and determining difficulty level (sums/minuends to 9, 12, or 20). You can also choose whether or not to display the timer, activate audio, and allow hints during play.
In-game reporting allows for easy tracking of player progress. Reports are easily exported via email.
The Math Speedway game board disappears when play is paused (no peeking!) and returns when play is resumed.
Speed and accuracy are the necessary attributes for proficiency in "mental math", and Math Speedway offers a simple and engaging format for both.
